Osamu Tezuka, aka the God of Manga, is having his final anime project before his death completed at long last, & it'll be done by his son. Macoto Tezka (also known as Makoto Tezuka) will take over directing "Legend of the Forest," which his father started working on in 1987 before passing away 2 years later.
An anime musical (akin to Disney's Fantasia) meant to consist of four parts, the Tezuka only finished the first & fourth parts. Those two parts were shown in Japanese IMAX theaters back in 2003, & is also available to download for American viewers on iTunes. But until now it has never been completed. In the past, his son Tezka has directed several modern anime adaptations of one of his father's most famous works, "Black Jack." He also supervised "Pluto," a modern re-imagining of his father's "Astro Boy."
