A second trailer for the upcoming huge Yu-Gi-Oh 10th Anniversary cross-over movie has been leaked online. This new trailer gives us a much better idea of what the 3D film will be like, & includes lots of new footage & information about the feature. It's just so freaking cool to see Yugi, Judai, & Yusei all teaming up. Although Judai's Yubel eyes seem a bit off compared to how they look from the TV series.

Another version of this new trailer can be seen below, & after that you can check out LittleKuriboh's Abridged version of the trailer:

The official CaramellDansen YouTube Channel has announced an equally official CaramellaGirls iPhone/iPod Touch game. In the same vein as the DDR or Guitar Hero games for the iPhone, you tap on icons to play along with the song on the screen. The now infamous CaramellDansen song can be played in Swedish, German, or English vocals. The player can also choose between the three CaramellaGirl mascots, each representing a different difficulty level.

Unfortunately at the time of this posting, the game is not yet up in Apple's App Store. Remixed Record does promises it'll be up "soon" though. We also don't know the price of the game yet either, so that's a bit of a mystery as well. Moving on, more awesome video game videos below:

For further proof that Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's is now dead in America in favor of the original series, we take a look at the sad state of its toy front. Although more American toys for the spin-off series were previously announced, such as Yusei's Duel Disk & a Jack Atlas action figure, there are now no plans to bring any of them to the US.

Yusei's Duel Disk in particular was a much wanted accessory for Yu-Gi-Oh fans, & has already been released in Japan & the UK. Instead, all we Americans get is the previously released Yusei Wrist Dealer, a pathetic piece of plastic that only holds your deck (instead of being able to play them). It also has "card flipping action," if you really don't care about the condition of your cards. It's also really tiny & tight, no way an average adult would be able to wear it. I mean I know we're not the toy's target audience, but I'm still able to wear the previously released Duel Disks without any difficulty. But the Wrist Dealer is seriously just for kids.

This sad news regarding the absence of 5D's toys in North America comes directly from the toy master license holder & manufacturer, Playmates. You can check out their response below:

It was a little over a year ago when Toonami came to an end & when Cartoon Network put an end to their Saturday night action block. Well it may not be Toonami, but CN is finally bringing back action to Saturday nights. A brand new block will start this Saturday from 7pm-10pm (Eastern/Pacific).

As evident by most of its programming though, it's aimed toward a younger crowed then Toonami was. Only the first hour will contain anime, & its not Naruto or DBZ stuff either- Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's & Bakugan. The real treat however lies at the very end of the block- the long awaited return of Justice League Unlimited! Reruns or not, it's still great to have Justice League back on Cartoon Network. Here's the schdele for the new action block:

Brand new images of the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh 10th Anniversary movie have found their way online. They don't really tell us anything new about the story, besides confirming that Yami Yugi will be in on the action.

In truth it wasn't until I saw these pics of Yugi, Judai, & Yusei all standing together that I became really excited to see this film. Just seeing the three of them in the same place, standing tall together against an enemy, is enough to make this fanboy excited. Naturally I'm more excited at the opportunity to get more Judai rather than Yugi. I feel the story of Yugi has been told, & then some. But the story of Yuki Judai still remains an open book with unlimited potential for what his future holds.

I can't wait to see this, even if it'll be awhile before us international fans get it. Hopefully it'll only be a few weeks after it comes out rather than months. Check out the 10 brand new pics below:

According to the latest issue of V-Jump magazine, the brand new Yu-Gi-Oh crossover movie will debut in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2010. It also states that the original seiyuu for Yugi & Judai will both be reprising their roles for the movie, along with Yusei's seiyuu. In addition, the animation director for the film is Takahiro Kagami, who is a fan-favorite among Yu-Gi-Oh anime fans who did many of the finest looking episodes of the Duel Monsters series.

At the same time, the official Japanese website for the movie was updated with information on the film's plot. It seems Yusei is the catalyst for setting things in motion, the story will take place in Yugi's time, & it's Judai's powers that tie it all together. Here's a translation of the story:

For the second time in the past week, a Yu-Gi-Oh MAD based on the To Love-ru anime opening has been found online. Coincidence, or something else? At any rate, it's fun to see what Yu-Gi-Oh would be like if it were an ecchi harem series. Lord knows it's had plenty of attractive girls over its 10 year run. Which YGO girl would you choose if they were all chasing after you?

It's also interesting to see the similarities between the two vids, despite being obviously done by different artists. You can check out the newer one above, & you can see the older one again (as well as the original To Love-ru opening) below:

According to the latest issue of V-Jump, in honor of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime 10th anniversary a brand new Yu-Gi-Oh movie will be coming to Japanese theaters in Spring 2010. Just like the previously announced anniversary OVA, "Gekijou-ban Yu-Gi-Oh! ~Chou-Yuugou! Jikuu o Koeta Kizuna~" will involve the main protagonist from all three Yu-Gi-Oh series- Yugi (DM), Judai, (GX), & Yusei (5D's).

Which begs the question, what does this mean for the Shonen Jump Super Tour OVA? Did ambitions for the OVA get so big that they decided to turn the OVA into a movie, or will we still be getting the OVA? If so, will it still be about all three main characters, or will it be a different plot now that the movie will be covering that?

As the trailer above indicates, the movie will be shown in 3D. Now I've heard many fans assume that it being in 3D means that the entire film will be done in CGI, but I really don't think that's what they meant at all. Rather it'll be still be animated in the traditional sense, & audiences will wear 3D glasses so that the images pop-out at them.

The movie will feature a brand-new villain known as Paradox, which the three heroes will have to unite in order to defeat. What's interesting is that if you look at Paradox's character page on the official Japanese movie website, his bottom half kind of looks like Kaiba. Coincidence? Maybe, hard to say yet. More details as they become available.

In what appears to be a last minute change, the CW4Kids has removed "Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's" from its Saturday morning schedule effective immediately. While a new episode was originally scheduled to air this Saturday, it has instead been replaced by an hour of the original "Yu-Gi-Oh" anime series. This isn't just a onetime thing either, as 4Kids Entertainment has revealed their Fall TV schedule, & 5D's isn't on the list at all. Here's the new season schedule beginning September 19:

4Kids Entertainment, who have lately been actually pleasing die-hard anime fans by uploading Japanese raw & English subtitled episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh onto YouTube, have unfortunately been forced to take all the episodes down. Now before you grab your torches & head to 4Kids headquarters with an angry mob, this is not their fault. It turns out a very odd Japanese rights issue has surfaced because of the attention the subbed episodes have been getting (4Kids had just begun experimenting with hard & soft subbed versions of episodes that had never before been released in the US).

It seems one of the original Japanese voice actors had a problem with the Japanese episodes on YouTube, so they all had to be removed. That's all the raw episodes, all the soft-subbed episodes, & all the hard-subbed episodes (as of this writing the test hardsub version of episode 13 still works, I'm sure this is just an oversight on 4Kids' part). Now all that remains are the English dub episodes. Personally this doesn't make much sense to me. I'm sure 4Kids had all the legal rights to stream the episodes in regions they had the rights to. So how is it that because one seiyuu had a problem with it (even though the streams weren't available in Asia), all the episodes had to be removed? This seems to apply beyond Internet streams as well. DTO & even DVDs with the Japanese language seem to not be allowed anymore. All in all, 4Kids had delivered a mixture of the first 14 episodes online in subtitled format, & the first 44 raw episodes.

While this is a large & unfortunate setback, there is some good news to share as well. 4Kids Entertainment isn't allowing this to dampen their hopes of releasing uncut & original anime online. Their resident Nameless Cubicle Office Guy has officially announced that completely unedited, subtitled episodes of "Sonic X" & "Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's" are coming this Fall! Subtitled season 1 episodes of "Sonic X" will start rolling out on Hulu, while HD subtitled episodes of "5D's" will be streamed on YouTube. English dubbed episodes of "5D's" (edited) will also be added to YouTube around the same time as well.

Not only that, but for the first time ever, uncut subtitled episodes of "Yu-Gi-Oh GX" will be added to YouTube as well! NCOG promises the "GX" episodes will begin rolling out "after 5D’s." I'm not too sure what exactly he means by "after," since 5D's is still airing in Japan. No word yet on if the subbed GX episodes will also include season 4, which was never dubbed by 4Kids or shown in the US.

UPDATE: The source site has since changed it's original sentence "A rights issue in Japan with one of the original voice actors raised it’s head" to simply "A rights issue in Japan raised it’s head" (my RSS reader still has the original version). Not sure why this was modified, but there you go.

Well it turns out that the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's OVA that'll be shown at the 2009 Shonen Jump Super Anime Tour will be a crossover special after all. The latest issue of V-Jump magazine gives us a glimpse of what to expect, with Yugi Muto, Judai Yuki, & Yusei Fudo all taking center stage. It also appears that original Yu-Gi-Oh manga-ka Kazuki Takahashi created the story for this OVA himself, despite having little involvement in both GX & 5D's. Here's what main parts of the article had to say:

Two weeks ago, the CW4Kids managed to confuse Yu-Gi-Oh fans by skipping a whopping six episodes of "Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's" for no adequately explained reason. The entirety of Carly's fall into darkness was skipped, not to mention Aki dealing with her family history. At first fans thought it had to be a mistake by jumping from episode 35 to episode 42. Perhaps the wrong "tape" was put in that morning at 4Kids headquarters. But this past weekend, the CW4Kids proceeded to air episode 43. Clearly they did not intend to correct their mistake, if it was even a mistake at all. It's also pretty clear they plan to continue to just move forward without showing the skipped episodes at all.

Out of the blue, 4Kids began streaming four new episodes of 5D's on their website yesterday. They are episodes 36-39, & we can assume episodes 40 & 41 will join them soon enough as well. This act only makes the skipping of the on-air episodes less likely an accident & more likely deliberate. It's still not clear as to why 4Kids decided not to air the episodes on TV, but at least they're still allowing fans to view them in their entirety online.

Originally there were talks of skipping Carly's episodes because she's, well, murdered. & it was too gruesome for 4Kids but too integral to edit out, so they might just skip it entirely. But after all these years, one should never underestimate 4Kids' ability to edit & change ANYTHING in anime. The fact that the eps are now online & edited to their usual standards should be proof of that. Whatever the case may be, you can check out the online exclusive episodes here:

V-Jump magazine has announced that beginning in the October issue, on sale next month, a brand new "Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's" manga will begin serialization in the mag. Based on the currently running anime of the same name, the manga will contain an original story that differs from the television series. V-Jump already publishes the Yu-Gi-Oh GX manga, which is also based on a Yu-Gi-Oh anime series but tells an original story, & that story is not expected to conclude anytime soon. V-Jump had also previously serialized the now concluded Yu-Gi-Oh R manga, a story set in the original Yu-Gi-Oh series.

The "5D's" manga's story will be created by Masahiro Hikokubo, who is the "Duel Advisor" for all the Yu-Gi-Oh series. Which is, by the way, the weirdest title I have ever heard of. I mean I guess it makes sense. While the main writing staff works on the overall story, someone has to come up with those crazy duel scenarios that occur in every episode. The fact that he's coming up with his own story should be interesting. Translated information below:

Last year's Jump Super Anime Tour was so successful that they're doing it again. The latest issue of Shonen Jump in Japan announced that the new tour will begin on October 12, & many of the anime specials featured this year are honoring the number 10 in different ways. The series taking part this year are Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Naruto, Tegami Bachi, Toriko, Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's, & One Piece. For Toriko, this will be its first animated project ever. Last year Tegami Bachi had its first animated project ever at the 2008 Tour, & now its getting its own anime series.

We already reported on the new Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's 10th anniversary OVA that's coming out soon, & as it turns out it'll be a part of this tour. While it's pretty much a sure thing now that the rumor of it being a crossover duel with Yugi & Judai is fake, one has to look forward to what they do plan to show for a 10th anniversary special. & while Yu-Gi-Oh is celebrating 10 years of animation, Naruto will be celebrating 10 years of manga chapters with its special. As for One Piece, the Tour will be showing special footage from the upcoming 10th One Piece movie, which is also the first movie to be supervised by manga-ka Eiichiro Oda.

Last year, three of the specials were uploaded online for free on Shonen Jump's JumpLand website, with subtitles included. Let's just hope that something similar happens again this year with Jump's new website.
