Boy, the Abridged Series universe sure became all twisted up today. Realizing that his Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged Series was getting old & stale, LittleKuriboh has decided to start Abridging his TRUE favorite series- Naruto! Sure, MasakoX & Vegeta3986 might have done Naruto Abridged first, but LK has decided to make this version his own! & it's chuck full of new catchphrases that are sure to be the next big thing! "Screw the ninja rules, I have lung cancer!" Check out the very first episode above!

Adding to this confusion, IDLITsudios has also decided to take over someone else's Abridged Series. They'll now be doing Berserk Abridged, which used to be done by hbi2k. So now because of this, hbi2k has started work on another brand new Abridge Series- Gantz Abridged: The Filler Chronicles! Check out these new beginnings below:

FUNimation made a slew of huge announcements today, including losing one title while gaining another. Due to declining DVD sales & nowhere to air the series on TV anymore, Funi has canceled their contract with One Piece & will no longer be releasing the episodes. But never fear, Straw Hat fans! The One Piece license has been rescued & gone back where it belongs- 4KIDS!! That's right, 4Kids has One Piece back! No longer do we have to deal with the changed voices that Funi tried to shove down our throats! Hurray!

In exchange, FUNimation has picked up a former 4Kids title- Pokemon! For the first time ever in the US, Pokemon will be getting a TRUE, proper English dub, as well as uncut Japanese versions on the DVDs! Auditions are being held for various roles right now, though they have already picked out the voice for Ash Satoshi- Zac Effron! Best known for his musical numbers in the "High School Musical" movies & being cast as Light Yagami in the upcoming live-action American "Death Note" movie, Effron sent in his audition tape to Funi early on, which you can watch for yourself above. Also, Vic Mignogna has been cast as Mudkip.

FUNimation also announced their dub voice cast for the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. They couldn't get the ADV actors to reprise their roles, so instead Funi chose to go with an all-star voice cast! Check out the main cast below:

Due to the amazing success & high praise for DragonBall Evolution, Twentieth Century FOX & other studios have decided to create even more live-action movies based on anime! FOX has already announced plans to adapt "Code Geass" into an American movie, & has already cast their lead actor. British thespian Hugh Laurie, best known as the titular character in FOX's TV series "House," will be playing the lead role of Lelouch. Granted, he might seem a little old for the role. But Mr. Laurie is a terrific actor & I for one believe he can pull it off. Plus, Lelouch is a Britanian, so of course he should be played by someone British! [Japanator]

Sad news, everybody. LittleKuriboh announced today that he has grown tired of working on "Yu-Gi-Oh: the Abridged Series," & will no longer be doing any more episodes of the series. It sucks, to be sure. But the good news is that he's started work on a brand new series instead! Introducing YTAS's new spin-off sitcom show, "Zorc & Pals!" The first episode, titled "the One with the Confusing Circumstances," can be watched above right now!

Let me tell you that LK has really outdone himself with this new series. The writing & timing here is far greater than anything he put out in Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged. This is by far a superior series, so don't cry about loosing Yu-Gi-Oh. Instead, EMBRACE Zorc & Pals! Because this truly is the future of anime-edited comedy! To read LK's words regarding the end of YTAS, check out his farewell speech here:

Warner Bros has announced that they're teaming up with JK Rowling (author of Harry Potter) & Akira Toriyama (DBZ, Blue Dragon) to create an anime series based off of the hugely popular Harry Potter franchise. The new series is expected to hit the ABC Family Channel starting in the Fall of 2012.

The art style of the series is expected to look much like Toriyama's other work, so expect to see a Goku-esque Harry in the series. The above picture currently is preliminary artwork for the series only. Rowling will be supervising all aspects of the series, & is expected to make some changes to the character designs.

The originally made-up anime & manga from AnimeNewsNetwork's Nina comics, "Ultimate Mop Daisuke DX," has now become an actual manga! The story revolves around a boy who has unnaturally good janitor-skills, & aims to be the best mopper in the world. Of course the path to greatness is not an easy one, as he runs upon rival young custodians in the making on his journey. But this series is more than your typical shonen tournament-style manga. It has an amazing heart that can break even the strongest man into tears with it's touching sad stories. You think Gaara had it rough? You ain't seen nothing until you've read UMD!

Every one of the first 27 chapters are utterly perfect, from the art to the story-telling. The art stays strong after 27 as well, but the time-jump really ruined things for the story. I didn't mind Daisuke being a few years older as much as most fans did, but you gotta admit that the story really went from brilliantly flawless to sadly mediocre. But enough about the later chapters. ANN reviewer Carlo Santos had the following to say about the first 27 volumes:

It's time once again to pick the best anime DVD that's coming out in America this week. & it should come as little surprise that our top pick is for the first DVD of "the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Season 2!" Yes that's right, the long-awaited second season of Haruhi is finally here! & this first DVD of the new season starts things off with a huge bang. Episode 1 (or 17, depending on if you're going by chronological or original airing order) contains one of the most action-packed episodes of any anime series I've ever seen- something that you may not expect from Haruhi. But once you start watching it, you sense that it fits the series like a glove.

Of course the animation quality is top-notch, even surpassing the first season. The new dance sequence is jaw-dropping, & will no doubt become more popular than "Hare Hare Yukai" was 2 years ago. & goddamn if I can't Aya Hirano's new songs out of my head! & the fact that Konata from Lucky Star is now a part of the cast as well? GENIUS!

Of course the best part of this first disc is episode 4 (aka episode 9), the onsen (hot springs) episode! This was what every Haruhi fanboy was dreaming of ever since the first episode! All the Haruhi girls in unedited, full-frontal nudity! Whether you prefer Haruhi, Mikuru, Nagato, or Tsuruya-san (or even sadly, Kyon's Little Sister), you'll see every last bit of them in all their glory! & let's not forget that there's a little Kyon-Itsuki action for the ladies out there as well.

There's no doubt that this is a must buy, both for new & old SOS Brigade members alike! Forget honor of DVD of the Week, this bad boy will no doubt get the title of Best DVD of the Year from every anime website out there (I'm looking at you, AnimeOnDVD)! GO GET!!

NebsTV has just gotten exclusive information that the third series of Yu-Gi-Oh GX will indeed be the final season for the anime. But fret not fsithful fans, because a sequel OVA series will be coming once the show ends this Fall. The sequel series will actually be a hentai series called "GX: Hard Dueling Nights" where a lot of erotic dueling (& other things) will be occurring during bedtime at Duel Academy. Expect either Asuka or Rei to be in pretty much every episode, with a little Junko & Momo thrown in once in awhile. It was also confirmed that they're will also be yaoi episodes, featuring JudaiXManjoume, as well as many others. Luckily this'll be offset by lots of Asuka/Rei episodes as well (at least Nebs hopes, anyway).

A lot of people seem to be accusing that news posted today isn't real. I haven't the faintest idea why. But this piece of news comes from the official NASA website. So that means there's no doubt at all that this story is indeed true. Turns out that the Americans defeated the Russians in the first ever Space Quidditch Match! USA, USA! That'll teach those Soviet Communists a thing or two! From the site:

A historic first Space Quidditch match came to a spectacular conclusion last night as astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria caught the Golden Snitch to give the Americans a hard fought victory over the Russians. "The Russians used brilliant strategy, but only NASA had the T2KQMU (Thunderbolt 2000 Quidditch Maneuvering Unit)," commented Lopez-Alegria, pictured above squeezing the elusive Golden Snitch in his left hand.
