Toon Zone's Maxie Zeus has written a farewell article in honor of the end of Justice League on Toonami. He starts it off by including his initial response when the series began many years ago, & then goes through the history of the show & how groundbreaking it really was. It's a very good read that's well worth checking out. Justice League was an amazing series & will truly be missed. Check out the article by following the link below:

First Yu-Gi-Oh: Capsule Monsters & now this? The anime spin-offs on US TV keep on coming.

The long awaited Pokemon Chronicles is finally coming to the US. It's basically aired everywhere except here, until June 3rd that is. For those who don't know, this is a (relatively) short series that "chronicles" the adventures of the other Pokemon characters who don't travel around with Ash. That's right, no Ash or Pikachu to annoy us in this series. I'm especially excited because the 3-part Pokemon Crystal special will be a part of this. Kenta is the man & should get his own show. I stopped watching Pokemon after Johto ended, but this series is new & different enough to merit a watch.

The bad news? This thing is on freaking TOONAMI. That's right, POKEMON on TOONAMI. What the hell, CN?! Even though I do wanna watch this series, it does NOT belong on Toonami. Why not Miguzi or something? I mean, come on! First Saved by the Bell, & now this....

Cartoon Network's Toonami & Viz Media are teaming up to launch a new online streaming anime service. Basically a new free online channel that will air TV shows, like Nebs TV, Adult Swim Fix, or AOL. It will be called Toonami Jetstream & be available starting July 17 at http://www.toonamijetstream.com. Currently scheduled to air are Naruto, Samurai Jack, Hikaru no Go, MAR, & the Prince of Tennis. IGPX, MegaMan NT Warrior, & Zoids Genesis are also planned for the service as well.

This isn't the first time Toonami has launched an online TV viewing experience. Rather, they were one of the first with Toonami Reactor that came out several years ago. Back then they aired episodes of DragonBall Z & a bunch of other anime that wasn't seen on TV. But getting to see Hikaru no Go, MAR, & Prince of Tennis is going to rock.

According to Toon Zone, brand new, never-before-seen episodes of Captain Planet will begin on Boomerang later this month. This isn't a new series or anything, but rather episodes that were made at the same time as the original episodes but never got around to airing on television. Until now, that is. Now if only it'd be anything like this:

On April 1st the final episode of YuYu Haksuho aired on Cartoon Network during it's really late extra Toonami lineup. It was sad to see one of my favorite anime come to an end. But what we didn't expect was for the show, & the whole line-up, to go with it. Now that YuYu Hakusho came to an end, Cartoon Network scrapped the whole line-up all together. This upset me greatly, cause I really liked the line-up, even though it was on extremely late at night. I enjoyed watching Gundam Seed a 2nd time through, even though it was now only on every other week. But Cartoon Network kept screwing the line-up over, so I guess it was only a matter of time.

The extra Toonami hour started almost 2 years ago now. It aired Fridays/Saturdays at midnight was a place to air new Toonami anime that didn't get high enough ratings to air on the regular Toonami. New eps of Gundam Seed, .hack//LTB, & Cyborg 009 aired there (although Cyborg 009 was sadly pulled before finishing the series, even though it only had a handful of shows to go). About a year later the line-up expanded from 1-hour to 3 to include a bunch of other Toonami shows like Justice League, Samurai Jack, & Megas XLR. Shortly thereafter though, for whatever reason Cartoon Network cut it back down to 1-hour & pushed it back even later at night (4am Central time), where it now only showed repeats of Seed & .hack//. A couple months ago some good news came that new eps of YuYu Hakusho would be coming to the block to finish off the series. I thought this meant good things for the block & would breath some much needed fresh life into it. & for awhile it did, but now that YuYu has come to an end it seems that CN is done with it for good. This also pretty much kills any hope for having Gundam Seed Destiny airing on CN. How sad.
